The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has organized its second ‘International Life Skills, Values, Gender, School Health and Well-being Summit–2013′ in collaboration with ‘Expressions India’, a private entity which describes itself as ‘A community based outreach programme for promotion of life skills Education, School Health & Community Wellness’.
The summit has held in two stages i.e. regional summit and international summit. Hamdard Public School, Sangam Vihar has participated in the International summit held at National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi with its team of four students, Maryam Siddiqui, Shohra Islam, Wajiha Khanam and Bushra Ghazi, along with a teacher Ms. Ranu Mazumdar. The three day event was graced by the presence of many distinguished personalities, such as Mr.Vineet Joshi, Hon’ble Chairman CBSE and Mr. Pallam Raju, Hon’ble HRD Minister of India, among few others.
The event, aimed at motivating students to be healthy and inculcating values and life-skills in them, comprised of many competitions, such as ‘On the spot painting competition’, ‘Theme song on gender and values’, ‘Thematic jingle’, ‘The Wellness elocution’ and ‘The adolescent Whiz Quiz’, which proved to be real tests for the creative skills of the children. The co-scholastic events included the Youth Parliaments, various workshops and seminars, which proved to be enjoyable as well as informative.
Hamdard Public School got a prize for distinguished participation in the Global School Health Exhibition and the stall of school was appreciated by all. Maryam Siddiqui, a student of class X also bagged a prize for meritorious performance in the Wellness Elocution. The students were extremely happy to have been a part of it, and thanked Hon’ble Madam Pricipal, Mrs. Zakia Majid Siddiqui, for her endless support and motivation. It was a great learning experience for them.
