An Educational trip to Gandhi Smriti, Delhi.

On 26th October 2016 students of class 3rd to 5th of Hamdard Public School went for an educational trip to Gandhi Smriti . The trip was sponsored by NIE Times of India.

Gandhi Smriti, is the sacred place where Mahatma Gandhi’s epic Life ended on 30 January 1948. Mahatma Gandhi had lived in this house from 9 September 1947 to 30 January 1948. Thus, the hallowed house treasures, many memories of the last 144 days of his life.

The children were very curious to know about the life and belongings of Gandhi Ji like his spectacles, watch, walking stick, desk etc.  They were fascinated to see the replicas of things which Gandhi Ji used in real life and many other things on display such as; photographs, sculptures, paintings, frescos, inscriptions on rocks and  relics depicting important events which are milestones in India’s journey towards Independence. There were original videos of important happenings like the Dandi March, Non Cooperation movement etc.

The trip ended by visiting the martyrdom spot where Gandhi Ji was shot dead. The whole trip was informative and enjoyed by the small children.
