Independence Day

The Junior Wing was ablaze with the colours of the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day. The special assembly started with an introduction to the meaning of Independence Day. The students shared information on various freedom fighters . The day was celebrated with much vigour and zest by the students who sang patriotic songs.

Our little freedom fighters dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and many others, presented the message of this important day loud and clear. They enlightened everyone with the contribution of our great freedom fighters. The students wore tricolor kurtas and bands to mark the occasion. Kudos to our pack of young  and enthusiastic leaders! The spirit of freedom indeed soared high amidst their robust and energetic performance.

Raksha Bandhan

A special assembly on Raksha Bandhan educated the students on the meaning of the festival and the ritual of applying ‘teeka’and tying’rakhi’. This was followed by a choral recitation on Rakshabandhan. The participants were traditionally dressed. They portrayed the ceremonial tying of the thread on the brothers’ wrists .

Gandhi Jayanti

An eager wait of the students of the Primary Wing came to fruition on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti when they presented a special assembly on the life and contribution of Mahatma Gandhi. The theme of the assembly was ‘Truth’ and ‘Ahimsa’. Through a small yet exceptionally amazing skit, the students presented as to why Gandhiji chose to follow the path of non violence to fight against the British Empire. They presented the philosophical and pragmatic ideals of Gandhiji. Various important events in the history of India’s struggle for independence were depicted beautifully. The assembly concluded with the national anthem.

Dussehra

In order to explain the theme of ‘Dussehra’, our confident students took turns and came forward to speak a few lines on why we celebrate the festival.  Our students were delighted to share their learning from the festival of Dussehra in the form of a poem. Our little ones reiterated the message of victory of good over evil. The assembly concluded with a ‘Teacher’s Talk’ followed by the school song.

Muharram

The special assembly on Muharram commenced with the qirat and the thought for the day. The students vividly narrated the incident of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam and the importance of fasting on this day, commemorating the rescue of the people of Israel by Musa (AS) from the Pharaoh.

The school choir presented a beautiful song on the occasion. The assembly concluded with the school song.

Gandhi Jayanti Assembly @ Hamdard Public School!

A special assembly on the occasion of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ has been organized by Hamdard Public School. Students have prepared and presented various songs, quotations of Mahatma Gandhi, a skit showing instances of His life, reasons to follow Gandhi ji etc under the guidance of Ms. Rubina Nadeem and Ms. Henna Hassan.

The work presented by the students gets a hand of applause from the Principal and the audience.

‘The Founder Day’ celebrations @ Hamdard Public School

Today on 14th September 2016, HPS celebrated their Founder’s Day which manifest the Birth Anniversary of an illustrious philanthropist, thinker, visionary man and our founder Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb.

There was a special Assembly held in the HPS auditorium which has been marked by the gracious presence of Mr. Samar Hamid, Addl. Secretary, Hamdard Education Society, Mr. Zubair Ahmed Khan, Principal, Hamdard Public School, respected teachers and lovable students to commemorate his simple lifestyle, high visions towards the emancipation of the Muslim community and their education, His Awards and Achievements.

In a special Assembly, students presented a wonderful skit on His “Simple Living, High Thinking” approach towards life, a briefed biographical power point presentation,  and informative speeches on His Awards and Achievements.

There was a special reward ceremony kept for the supporting non-teaching staff  who served us from the past many years and whose contributions can never be neglected.

Mr. Samar Hamid Sb. shared his personal experiences and reminisce the time spent with Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Sb. and marked his far sighted vision and their achievements as he set up several institutions include Hamdard National Foundation, Hamdard Education Society, Hamdard Study Circle, Hamdard Public School, Hamdard Institute of Historical Research etc.

He was honoured by several national and international awards including the Avicenna Award presented by the erstwhile USSR in 1983.  He was conferred with Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.  He was also an honorary member of the Academy of Medical Science of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Founder-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, and Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

Mr. Samar Hamid Sb. also shared Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb’s  tag line “Zameen Ke Upar Kaam, Zameen Ke Neeche Aaram” and make us to understand the actual meaning of His saying, through carrying forward his noble vision and legacy.

Rekindle your love for reading at THE 22nd DELHI BOOK FAIR 2016

The 22nd edition of Delhi Book Fair commenced from August 27 till September 4, 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The fair is organized in association with Federation of Indian Publishers.

Book Fairs have a great role to play in promoting the reading habit among people of all age groups. Delhi Book Fair is playing a pivotal role in reiterating the might of the pen and the printed world and has come to be recognized as the biggest book bonanza keenly awaited by students, teachers, scholars, authors, intellectuals, librarians and book lovers.

Apart from promoting literacy and reading habit, especially among children and youth, the fair presents a vast panorama of Indian books on a wide range of subject. The fair provides a unique platform for business to business transactions, establishing new contacts, entering into co-publishing arrangements, translation and copy right arrangements, reprinting of old and rare books, apart from providing retailing opportunities as a multitude of visitors come to the fair.
