Little Hands at Artistic Work !

If art is an expression of life, the exhibition of art and craft in the Primary Wing gave plenty of curious insights into the minds and lives of students . They played with colours, smeared the corridors with a spectrum of colours and gave vent to their imagination. The young artists of the Primary Wing poured out their creativity and talent at the exhibition held at the school on Saturday, 22nd October’16.

Our young talent was given a platform to create their own piece of artwork giving them a sense of achievement and also giving them the opportunity of appreciating other’s artwork.

Deeply immersed in their own creative world, the little ones animatedly described their works to the visitors. The students’ hard work seemed to have paid off rather well as everybody was visibly impressed by it. The beautiful warli paintings, creating best out of waste, pot making, tile painting and craft work left the spectators mesmerized.

Four-year-old Shayan Jamal of ‘HAMDARD PUBLIC SCHOOL’ makes it to Delhi school’s U-12 team

Meet 4-year-old batsman Shayan Jamal, possibly Indian cricket’s next wonder boy

Jasvinder Sidhu, Hindustan Times, New Delhi, July 21, 2016

Barely a year old, Shayan Jamal used to have his gaze fixed on TV whenever a cricket match was on. Aged three, he took stance in front of a wicket for the first time. And believe it or not, all of four years now, Shayan has been chosen in his school’s U-12 team.

What strikes you on meeting the boy is how well he plays the cover drive. He also has solid forward defence. It is too young an age to even hold a proper cricket bat, leave alone play at any level. But there is enthusiasm all around.

“I want to play for India one day, like Virat Kohli. I admire him because he is a good batsman and scores centuries,” says Shayan, KG student at Hamdard Public School in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar.

Shayan’s father, Arshad, a former club level cricketer and a modest businessman, is guiding him.

“Shayan’s cricketing sense is strong and he his hungry to play cricket. If I give him a break for a day or two, he begins to pester me, asking ‘why we’re not going for nets! His game is natural. I am just trying to mould him,” says Arshad.

He has a cloth business but his entire focus is on his son.

“My family and friends think I am wasting my time on Shayan. But I feel god has sent him with exceptional talent. I can’t do injustice to him. I am confident god will show the way,” Arshad, who used to be a pace bowler, told HT.

It is too early to say whether Shayan will sustain his interest in the game as he grows up. However, for now his basics are strong and he knows how to leave the ball pitched outside off-stump, and play the late cut.

“I enjoy playing cricket. I want to play more. I also like fielding,” says the shy kid.

Book review – Last term of Malory Towers by Enid Blyton

Book Title : Last term of Malory Towers

Author : Enid Blyton

Book Review by Astha Pinhatiya, VII-G

The stories by Enid Blyton are very interesting and have a good moral.

In this story ‘Last Term at Malory Towers’ the writer wants to show that, what an amazing experiences could be at the school!

Studies are very important in our life. If we do hard work we can achieve our goals of life and too can easily achieve our goals at the time, like to be a head girl/head boy of the school.

From this story I learnt that If I work hard, than I too can be an outstanding and an excellent student of my school.
